Scabiosa - Perennials

 

Blanca Scabiosa   $15.95

Scabiosa 'Blanca, Scabiosa Hybrid, is a small flowered form of Pincushion Flower and it exhibits a a compact habit. 'Blancat' is a reminiscent of a pincushion full of pins. With its gray-green foliage, it has a plant height of 8” and a spread of 12-18", not to mention being disease resistant. It is best to plant Scabiosa in full sun, with well-drained soil and should be watered regularly throughout warmer months to increase its overall performance. Noted for very free flowering, butterfly-friendly, and a good cut flower.

Butterfly Blue Scabiosa   $15.95

Scabiosa 'Butterfly Blue’, Scabiosa columbaria, also know as Pincushion Flower, has wonderful 2" lavender-blue flowers that bloom from June to October. ‘Butterfly Blue’ is a reminiscent of a pincushion full of pins. With its gray-green foliage, it has a plant height of 12” and a spread of 12-18". It is also disease resistant. Scabiosa ‘Butterfly Blue’ was name Perennial Plant of Year in 2000, and one can see why. It will do excellent for front-of-the-border areas, with Coreopsis ‘Moonbeam', Dianthus 'Bath's Pink', in mass plantings or as cut flowers.

Pink Lemonade Scabiosa   $16.95

Scabiosa Pink Lemonade, 'Scabiosa columbaria', also known as Pincushion Flower, has wonderful light pink flowers that bloom from June to October. Scabiosa 'Giant Blue' is a vigorous version of 'Butterfly Blue'. It has larger lavender-blue flowers that bloom from June to October. ‘Giant Blue’ is reminiscent of a pincushion full of pins. With its gray-green foliage, it has a plant height of 16” and a spread of 12-18". It is also disease resistant. It will do excellent for front-of-the-border areas, with Coreopsis ‘Moonbeam', Dianthus 'Bath's Pink', in mass plantings or as cut flowers.

Blue Diamonds Scabiosa   $16.95

Scabiosa japonica 'Blue Diamonds’, also known as Pincushion Flower, is a dwarf selection that only reaches 6 inches tall. wonderful lilac-blue flowers bloom from June to October. ‘Blue Diamonds’ is a reminiscent of a pincushion full of pins. With its green foliage, it has a plant spread of 12-18", and it is disease resistant. ‘Blue Diamonds’ is great for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds and does excellent in rock gardens. It will do excellent for front-of-the-border areas, with Coreopsis ‘Moonbeam', Dianthus 'Bath's Pink', in mass plantings or as cut flowers.

Pink Passion Scabiosa   $15.95

Scabiosa 'Pink Passion', provides a non-stop display of pink Pincushion flowers bloom above compact foliage. Pink Passions are nearest thing to a perpetually-blooming hardy perennial we've seen. It is best to plant Scabiosa in full sun, with well-drained soil and should be watered regularly throughout warmer months to increase its overall performance.
