Yarrow - Coronation Gold

The Yarrow, 'Coronation Gold', Achillea ageratifolia, is an upright golden-yellow flowered Yarrow that blooms from June through September, providing excellent color throughout the summer months. With fern-like aromatic, silvery to gray-green foliage, it is considered to be one of the best yarrows in any landscape. The foliage has a somewhat strong, spicy aroma, which persists when used in dried arrangements. The flower heads are 3-4" wide, with a spread of 18-24" and a height of 42". 'Coronation Gold' has good texture and form and looks great in mass plantings. This Yarrow does well in average garden soils, but prefers lean, dry to medium wet, well-drained soil. With evergreen foliage in mild winter regions, this non-spreading Achillea is a definite winner. 'Moonshine' Yarrow is unlike the common Yarrow, being shorter in height and less invasive.
