O'Henry Peach

Large, firm, yellow freestone, with a superb flavor. The O'Henry Peach is a strong, vigorous, heavy bearing, and self-fruitful tree. It ripens from early to mid-August in central California. This white-fleshed, semi-freestone fruit is sweet and juicy like Babcock, with a more sprightly flavor. It is a popular fresh market variety that is now available for home planting. It is a peach leaf curl-resistant variety, tested at the WSU research station at Mt. Vernon, Washington. O'Henry is a peach that freezes well and requires 750 hours of chilling.

Orient
Orient Pear

The Pear, Orient, Pyrus communis, is good for cooking as well as having great landscape value as a flowering spring tree. The trees grow huge, as do the fruits. The Orient pear ripens in August, having the reputation of being the heaviest bearing pear tree. The Orient pear tree is very large in tree size and usually grows 20 feet tall in standard sizes. Pears have shiny deep green leaves offering summer shade and are covered with white blossoms in the spring. Well-drained sandy loam soils are preferred, but pears will grow on many soil types if good drainage is provided. Pears will grow more vigorously and produce more fruit in full sun.

Grapefruit - Oro Blanco
Oro Blanco Grapefruit

The Oro Blanco Grapefruit is thick skinned and is a popular, nearly seedless, grapefruit hybrid with white flesh. This fruit is produced from huge fragrant blossoms and large glossy-green foliage. As with many white fruits, the Oro Blanco's flesh is sweet and lacks any of the typical bitterness of a grapefruit. Oro Blanco is a vigorous, spreading tree with fantastic tasting grapefruit. Store at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, in the refrigerator for up to a month. Dwarf citrus trees can be successfully grown in containers throughout the United States. Allow for a few years of growth, so that you are not repotting every spring. Citrus do not need to be pruned, but you could prune them if they get too big and in the way. Oro Blanco is Spanish for "white gold".

Large fruit, pleasing flavor, amber pulp, with very attractive purplish-brown skin. Osborne Prolific Fig has been a long-time favorite in cool coastal areas, and is excellent inland as well. The Osborne Prolific Fig is medium to large, thin skinned, and a dark reddish brown fruit. This fig is very sweet and has white to amber flesh.The Osborne Prolific Fig tree can withstand cold temperatures, is self-fruitful, and bears fruit twice a year. It is adaptable to cool short summers, produces well in Southern California and does well against walls and sunny locations on the East Coast. The fruit ripens anywhere between August and October, and in some climates, November. The tree can be pruned to any shape. This fig requires 100 hours of chilling.

Mandarin - Owari Satsuma
Owari Satsuma Mandarin

The Owari Satsuma Mandarin is the hardiest tree of all mandarins. The fruit ripens in November and December and is usually picked before the first frost. Owari Satsuma Mandarin's seedless fruit peels easily and is like candy on a tree! This Mandarin variety produces sweet, seedless fruit with delicate flavor that ripens around Christmas time. This fruit is great eaten fresh, added to fruit salads, or even eaten as dessert. The tree only gets to about 10' to 12', but can be easily managed in a container with some pruning to keep it at any desired shape. As the tree grows you can also clip the lower branches to show off the trunk a bit, if desired. As an added benefit, the fruit keeps well on the tree. Owari Satsuma prefers full sun, good drainage, and moderately moist soil.
