Arborvitae - Danica, Thuja occidentalis 'Danica', has glossy emerald green foliage; branchlets are vertically arranged; bluish green winter color. It is considered one of the most versatile dwarf globe forms. Danica is an excellent choice for borders, foundation plantings, specimen or low hedge. It grows 1 to 1.5 feet high. Foliage in winter is often brown to green. This plant enjoys good sun exposure and a moist, acidic soil.

Nikko Slender Deutzia, Deutzia gracilis 'Nana', is an awesome groundcover type shrub that is compact and spreading. It produces an abundance of snowy white flowers in mid to late May. The flowers are beautiful, but last for only two weeks and then are gone. The green foliage turns a deep burgundy in the fall. This plant is excellent for hedges, mass or border planting. After flowering, remove damaged or undesirable branches; and after severe winters, plant can be cut back to 6" to promote new growth. Bittersweet - Diana, Celastrus scandens 'Diana', is the female of a vigorously growing vine often used for covering fences. The bright red and yellow fruits have a lovely bicolor effect; perfect in dried arrangements. Needs one male planted nearby for every five females to produce berries. Diana grows best in full sun and tolerates all types of soil, including drying soil. It's better to plant it in poor soil, as in the fertile one it can become too expansive. Well adaptable to different levels of pH of the soil. Diana Bittersweet is frost hardy and only rarely attacked by pests and diseases. It responds well to pruning. Vines add beauty to any landscape because of their sheer versatility. Whether climbing walls or arbors, along fences or up trees - or even along the ground - vines have the potential to add flowers and fragrance to any space. They are especially well suited for difficult spots.

This low mounding shrub is great for drier sites and well-drained areas in partial shade. Dwarf Bush Honeysuckle makes nice mass plantings because of its short height and quick growth rate. The red, orange, and yellow colors of the bronze tinted foliage becomes bright and very welcome in the fall. This shrub is excellent for bank plantings because its roots will help retain the soil. It is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds.

The habit is neat, well branched and not floppy like other species. Prefers sunny, moist sites, but can adapt to dry shady locations. It is drought tolerant; spreads by suckers; and a very tough plant. It prefers sun to partial shade and is a rapid grower that gets to 3 to 5 feet in height and width.
