Yellow Multiplier is between a shallot and more substantial potato onion in size. The term 'multiplier' means that the bulbs multiply freely producing several lateral bulbs. These shallots have a sweet, creamy flavor when cooked and has a pungent bite. They are eaten fresh or cooked, chopped or boiled. Fall planting yields lots of husky scallions early in spring and lots of mature onions at harvest, if the scallions aren't heavily picked. Spring planting will produce some scallions with somewhat smaller bulbs. Available spring and fall, Shallots need a continuous supply of nutrients. Split or continuous applications of nitrogen are essential for good growth. After harvest, remove tops only after they are dried, and store the bulbs in a cool, dry area.

The Yellowstone Carrot starts out white then becomes bright yellow when mature. Finally, a yellow carrot! It has a sweet flavor and is attractive in combination with Nutri-Red and a dark orange variety, like Coral II. The full size of this vigorous Yellowstone Carrot is 6" - 8" with 1 - 1 1/2" diameter, and it has wide shoulders with a strong top. This carrot tastes best when cooked. Carrots are a cool season vegetable. The soil temperature must be at least 40 degrees F., and the newly sprouted seeds must not be allowed to dry out. It takes up to 2 weeks to germinate, and they must be kept moist. Early thinning and weeding are a must! Carrots do better on light, sandy or silty loams.
