Pembina Plum

The Pembina Plum, Pyrus 'Pembina', is a good dessert plum with yellow flesh, and it is sweet and juicy. The large size, pointed fruit ripens in mid to late August. This fruit has red skin with yellow flesh and is a freestone. Pembina plums are excellent for eating and processing; the finest plum on the prairies for eating fresh! Needs another variety for pollination. Plant about a month after the first killing frost in the fall or about a month before the last killing frost in the spring. Select a planting site that has good air, drainage, full sunlight and deep, well drained soil.

Pink Lady Cripps Pink Variety

Pink Lady® Apple, which is also known as the Cripps Pink variety, is a new hot climate apple from Western Australia. Pink Lady is a very good apple for those of you south of the Mason-Dixon line. It is a large apple with a pink blush over a yellow undertone with no russetting. The flesh is creamy and crisp. The flesh resists browning when cut. It has a sweet-tart taste similar to, but generally rated better than Granny Smith. Pink Lady® maturity date is 10-15 days after Granny Smiths. This apple tree does not need a pollinator. Pink Lady® will not mature properly in USA in zone 5, due to low autumn temperatures.

The Apple - Pink Pearl, Malus domestica 'Pink Pearl', is an apple that is generally medium sized, with a conical shape. Pink Pearl has a translucent, yellow-green skin, and a crisp, juicy flesh with tart to sweet-tart taste. This apple has a secret: inside, it is positively vampy, with startling bright pink, sweet-tart flesh. Even the blooms are bright pink! The fruit is crisp and tastes of raspberries and lemon custard. Pink Pearl apples ripen in late August to mid-September. It is a wonderful table apple and makes a beautiful pink applesauce.Suggested pollinators are any other apple tree or crabapple tree.

Pink Satin Pomegranate

Refreshing, sweet, fruit-punch flavor, pink to dark red fruit. Pink Satin Pomegranate produces medium to large sized fruit with light-pink edible seeds. Its light-colored juice is non-staining. The plant is vigorous and can be grown as a shrub or tree and kept any height by summer pruning. It is self-fruitful.Pink Satin Pomegranate can be eaten fresh, used for juice, or as a fruit salad. It is an excellent source of antioxidants. The chilling requirement is 150-200 hours. The fruit ripens in early October.

The Potomac pear is a Moonglow x Beurre D’Anjou cross which has a pleasingly subacid buttery flavor, and similar to the Beurre D’Anjou in character. The fruit size averages 2 ½”. This pear is a great fresh-market pear for commercial growers and homeowners that combines superior resistance to fire blight with good-quality fruit. The Potomac pear is pollinated by Bartlett or Warren.

Princess Kay Plum

The Princess Kay Plum, Prunus nigra, is an ornamental plum. Princess Kay Plum is a double-flowered selection of Prunus nigra discovered in the wild in northern Minnesota. The tree form is oval with a somewhat open informal branching habit. It is a small tree that produces very pleasant and fragrant double white blooms in early May, before the leaves. These flowers then turn pinkish as they age. Princess Kay Plum has foliage that is medium green and sometimes develops a reddish-purple fall color in early autumn. Fruit set is sparse and is of poor quality. The trunk and branches are almost black in color. Adaptable to a range of soil conditions, Princess Kay Plum is not tolerant of poorly drained soils or extremely droughty soils. Requiring full sun for good performance, this tree should be grown for a wonderful landscape effect.
